La Mala Rodriguez-Staying true to Hip Hop

Hip hop definately became an international sensation, having such a strong following world wide. Most people think hip hop in Spanish means reggaeton, but they’re actually in a way cousins, two different genres. I just want to share a bit of the hip hop movement thats going on in Spain, particularly in Sevilla, a city rich in culture, located in southern part of Spain. I’ll introduce an artist every so often, and on this occasion I’ll present one of my favorite female MCs, LA MALA RODRIGUEZ. Her last album Malamarismo included tracks with heavy and really raw beats that perfectly combined with her unique style of flowing. La Mala stays true to her name, as her delivery is genuine, raw and  aggressive!  Shes gained so much respect  and was even invited by Julieta Venegas to collaborate on “Eres Para Mi” the hit song that came out on Julieta’s MTV Unplugged album/dvd.  La Mala’s first attempt in dipping into the the Latin American markets started by  being a featured artists at the LAMC 2007, where her unique style and original tracks kept turning heads. Since then she has been another sensation, touring all over Latin America and collaborating with different well respected hip hop heads.

Heres an interview from our friends from REMEZCLA! They’ll be hanging out with us here soon too!
